The Discovery

A research grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) on the biodegradability of materials in landfills unexpectedly blossomed into the creation of SoilX 66, a nonhazardous compound with remarkable soil-enhancing properties. Studies at major US and Canadian agricultural universities revealed SoilX 66's ability to flocculate clay particles, instantly forming stable soil aggregates that transform sticky, clumpy clay into friable, mellow soil. Peer-reviewed publications and international conference presentations have underscored its biodegradability, identified soil bacteria that readily consume it, and highlighted its positive impact on seedling emergence. Applied at planting, SoilX 66 creates an improved soil environment, easing seedling passage and allowing young plants to focus their energy on robust root development, ultimately laying the groundwork for significantly higher yields.. read more

The Field Trials

For different soil types that are common across the US and Canada, SoilX 66 has consistently proven its ability to change soil conditions, dramatically improving both water infiltration and retention in the neighborhood of the developing seedling, which directly translates to significant gains in crop performance. University trials in North Carolina have shown a 10% statistically significant increase in yield in corn, a 13% statistically significant increase in yield in winter wheat, and an improvement in plant stand in soybeans. Furthermore, years of commercial-scale trials on non-irrigated barley in Idaho also revealed a 13% yield improvement in addition to a 35% increase in plant stand from a post-planting application of SoilX 66. These results are validated by statistical tests. In addition to these improvements, protein levels were maintained within required limits for malting quality.  Field test results highlight SoilX 66's effectiveness in boosting plant establishment and increasing yields across different crops and regions.. read more

The Nationwide Survey

To understand what matters most to growers striving for increased yields, we launched a nationwide survey targeting farmers cultivating key crops such as barley, soybean, corn, and wheat. This direct outreach allowed us to gain invaluable insights into the specific factors that farmers themselves identified as critical for boosting their productivity. The responses not only validated some of our early assumptions about the importance of soil structure and water management but also illuminated previously unconsidered aspects that significantly influence farmers' decisions when seeking solutions for enhanced crop yields. This farmer-centric approach has been instrumental in guiding the ongoing development of SoilX 66, ensuring it effectively addresses the real-world needs and priorities articulated directly by growers.. read more
